Natural Plant Communities Design Workshop

Learn practical design tools at our hands-on workshop!

REGISTRATION CLOSED!

Attendance Fee: $150.00
This fee covers the cost of all workshop materials, coffee and lunch

Location: The Cherry Owens library at Hilltop Arboretum (11855 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70810)

Caitlin Robbins and Ashlee Brackeen will begin with a lecture about Louisiana Natural Communities and how they can be used to transition our traditional landscapes into low-maintenance, ecologically restorative habitat spaces. Following the lecture, we support you in making practical decisions in redesigning your own personal property.

11x17 Google Earth printouts of your property will be provided to use as a base map to design your landscape. If your property is not visible from Google Earth (due to canopy cover or any other reason), please contact us directly so we can help you get a base map made for the workshop. Trace paper, rulers, markers, pencils, pens, and collage materials of native flora and fauna will also be provided.

Native plants and seeds will be available for purchase (order forms will be provided for larger quantities) following the workshop from local vendors such as Beavers Abundance, Gulf Coast Flora and Louisiana Native Seed Company.
